SWIMMING POOL

The City operates a newly renovated outdoor swimming pool located at the intersection of Waddell and Wallace Streets near the Maury River Middle School.  General Admission is 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.  We encourage anyone interested in enjoying a day of relaxation to come and join us.  The Pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year.  Pool applications are available at the pool or on-line.  Visit rockbridgeswims.org to find out more about local swimming events.  Pool schedule can be found here.

POOL RULES

  1. Obey the Lifeguards at all times.  Take problems to the manager or head guard.

  2. Please walk only - No Running.

  3. Please do not talk with Lifeguards while they are watching the pool.

  4. Fighting, rough play, excessive splashing, and standing on or diving from shoulders is not permitted.

  5. Smoking is not permitted inside the pool area - No Exceptions.

  6. Swimming suits must be worn in the pool - no cut offs allowed.

  7. Spitting/Spouting water, or blowing nose in pool is not permitted.

  8. Swimming across the lap lane is not permitted.

  9. Diving is allowed in deep-end only.

  10. In the lap lanes all lap swimming will be circle swimming (counter-clockwise) at all times regardless of the number of swimmers in the lane.

  11. Only disposable swim pants are allowed in either pool.  Regular disposable diapers are not permitted due to health concerns.  No exceptions.

  12. Glass containers and chewing gum are not allowed in the pool area.

  13. Profanity, unsafe behavior, and/or intoxication will not be allowed.

  14. Children 11 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult, legal guardian, or babysitter at least 18 years of age regardless of child's swimming ability.

  15. Early closing refunds will be given for daily pass holders who have signed in within 30 minutes of closing.

  16. Management reserves the right to prohibit entry or evict without refund any person who disregards the above rules or puts in jeopardy the safety of self or others at any time.

DIVING RULES

  1. Deep water area is restricted to diving only when boards are in use.  Swimming in the deep water area is permissible only when Lifeguards have "Closed" both diving boards.

  2. Only one (1) person permitted on board at a time.  Divers must wait on deck until previous diver reaches the exit ladder.

  3. Always double check diving area is clear before you go.

  4. Only one (1) bounce allowed per dive.

  5. Jump or dive straight off the board.  Do not jump towards the sidewalls.

  6. Swim to the closest ladder immediately after entering the water.  Do not cross the adjacent active diving area to exit.

  7. Safe diving practices required.  Cartwheels, handstands, and seat drops are not allowed.

WARNING:  Failure to use safe diving practices may result in serious injury or death.  Lifeguards have the authority to revoke diving privileges for repeat violators!

KIDDY POOL RULES

  1. This pool is not in the Lifeguard "Zone of Coverage."  No child shall be in the Kiddy Pool without constant adult supervision.  Unsupervised children and corresponding adults will be asked to leave immediately.  Repeat offenders will lose all pool privileges.

  2. Only disposable swim pants are allowed in either pool.  Regular disposable diapers are not permitted due to health concerns.  No exceptions.

  3. This pool restricted to children five (5) years of age and younger.

  4. Notify management immediately if a child has had an accident (injury or diaper leakage).
