The Lexington Fire Department is a volunteer unit organized in accordance with ordinances enacted by City Council. The Department is supported in part by the City, which provides buildings and equipment, and in part by dedicated volunteers and by its Ladies' Auxiliary. The Department and Auxiliary conduct an annual fund drive and regularly sponsor other fund-raising programs.

The Fire Department is located on South Main Street. Emergencies should be reported to Central Dispatch (911).
